Vision - Building an interdependent community of engaged learners who go forth to influence the world around them.
At James Cook School we value the importance of children being active, keeping fit and healthy. We know that when children are active, it helps them learn.
We aim and encourage all keen sports players to display fairplay and good sportsmanship. Joining a sports teams allows students to develop teamwork, social and communication skills while having fun learning a range of sport specific skills.
At James Cook School we offer:
Cricket
Netball
Hockey
Rugby and Soccer are offered through external sports clubs.
When children join a sports team, we expect that they display our R.I.C.H.E.R Core Culture to umpires, coaches, managers and sports players. Children and whānau are expected to represent our school with pride and in a R.I.C.H.E.R way.
When students join a sports team, they are issued with a sports uniform (James Cook School t-shirt and shorts). These will need to be washed and returned at the end of the season.
Details of teams, trials and dates will be communicated throughout the year.
